BAELESSS VALENTINES DAY

"It is better to be single with high standards than in a relationship settling for less"~Unknown
Valentines day is slowly approaching and you are probably going to be single again, just like you have been everyday since the beginning of the year. Valentines day is a day somebody made up to "celebrate love". It is pretty sad that people wait on this day to express their true affections to the ones they claim they love. We have 365/366 days in a year; the world doesn't come to an end just because you are single on Valentines day. It makes me sad to see people throw a pity party for themselves just because they dont have a valentine. Honey you wont die! You have 300+ other days and years ahead of you find the love of your life.
But I have been single for every valentines day for 2/3/4/5 years. All my friends are getting married and engaged and I cant even get a valentine?! God is not showing up like I thought He would!
Well if you started this walk/journey with God thinking that He was going to be throwing guys at you every time you needed to fill a void, then you need to reevaluate this whole thing!
Also, God wouldn't match you up with his son if He sees that you are not good for him. He doesn't want him hurt!. In the same way, God will never allow you to get in a relationship that ISN'T FOR YOU! He loves you way too much to see you get hurt!
You're sad because you dont have a valentine? Girl you have been single all year and you feel miserable about not having a bae for valentines day? What happened to waiting on God's perfect time? Why are you interrupting? God knows what He is doing, He doesn't need your help! What ever happened to remaining a virgin or celibate until you meet your Mr.Right? You are going to give up this beautiful thing you have preserved for your one day husband for a person who wants nothing with you but a one night Netflix and Chill type thing, all in the name of Valentine's day?!!!
Girl you need help! If this is your plan, you are just signing yourself up for a painful heat break .You are going to get hurt, it is not worth it. It is not worth all the time you have invested in waiting for the right one

And honestly, if you are this desperate for a valentine and you are willing to give up or lower your standards for a valentine, then sis you are not ready for God's perfect one for you. If you are willing to settle for a valentines day Netflix and Chill, you're not ready. How would you feel if knew you one day husband was jumping on women left and right to fill his voids? You wouldn't wanna be with him. You would want him to wait patiently and remain pure for you until the Father gives y'all the go ahead. Wait patiently on the Lord. I understand that it can be hard at times , but it will be so worth it in the end.
"So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we dont give up"~ Galatians 6:9
This is a tip for anyone who still feels kinda down because valentine's day is special to them. If you had bae every valentines day and this year is different, you dont have to feel miserable either honestly. I will say this in the nicest way possible; get over it (group hug). So you dont have anyone this year, get over it, let it go! Use this time to love on the special people around you (your friends, your family). Use this time to love on you. Yes you, you deserve a little special dinner, a little special box of chocolates/candy. You deserve it. Celebrate you, not just on Feb. 14, but everyday honey! Most importantly, spend this day loving on God. That is how I spent my valentines day last year. Valentines day of 2015, I told God that I wanted to spend time with Him, talk to Him, dine with Him. I got this idea from one of Heather Lindsey's books (Pink Lips and Empty Hearts). Her faith in God is incredible and I have learned so much her! So yeah the plan was to prepare food and sit down with God, just like a date. But God had different plans for us. There was no food but that moment was so satisfying. God came through! Sometimes forgetting about the things we want and showing God gratitude for being so good to us, shows God that we are grateful for the things He does for us. Makes Him wanna bless us more knowing that we will show gratitude and glorify His name.
Bae or no bae, be happy. February 14 is just another day to be happy!
I hope this helps some of you out. Have a beautiful weekend!

Josey
