"THIS FRIENDSHIP IS KILLING MY HAPPINESS..."

So this post is going to be like a part two to the "OMG WHY ARE YOU SINGLE?" post.  If you haven't already checked that out, please do!(*hugs*). Nah PAUSE, this is actually for everyone, you don't have to be single to have problems in friendships right? I just thought it would be a nice continuation to that post.

Can anyone sense the excitement in my tone? I don't know lol, I am really excited to write this post. This topic is very dear to my heart. I have been wanting to write about friendships for the LONGEST time but I didn't know where to start from as it's very personal. I thank God (#realMVP) for putting the words on my finger tips today though, so I really hope that you guys enjoy this and learn something from it.

Okay so continuing from the "OMG WHY ARE YOU SINGLE?" post, hopefully you have made a decision to wait patiently at God's feet for bae. Good! Now let's shift our focus from bae to the people that we surround ourselves with, our friends.

Are you friends with a type of person who would tell you that your decision to wait for God's perfect time is stupid, lame, unnecessary, a waste of time, etc? Are you friends with a type person who would tell you something like "why waste time on God when you can find bae in the club on a Friday night?" Sometimes you can make the decision to do things the right way(God's way) and when you have friends who do not understand where God is taking you, they will knock down with their comments and if you allow yourself to sit in that friendship, their constant discouragement will sink in and it can cause you to fall off the path that God is taking you.

Being friends with someone who tells you "oh lets go to the club just this ONCE" when they know very well that you are living a different life, a life for God is like your little boyfriend telling you "oh lets do 'it' just this ONCE" when he knows very well that you trying to abstain and keep yourself pure. That ONE TIME  can bring so many problems. With the boyfriend situation, you can get pregnant, you can get an STD, he will leave you with a hardened heart when he breaks up with you right after taking advantage of you. With the friend situation, a lot can happen too. You don't know the type of spirits you might encounter on that ONE TIME! You can get so drunk or someone can drug your drink and rape you! And lets be real with each other, you know ONE TIME doesn't really mean ONE TIME. You will enjoy it and you will want to do it every weekend. You don't want that! You don't want to come this far and just give up on God.

Check your friends! Check your friends! As you're on this journey with the Lord, you have to check your friends. Don't wait for something bad to happen before you decide to stop being friends with someone. Believe it or not, if you hang out with people who are always envious and jealous of others, if you hang out with people who gossip and lust after worldly things, there is at least a 75% chance that you're going to be like that! Don't even ask me about how I got my numbers, you KNOW it's true LOL. I have been there. Not so long ago, I was friends with people who were always gossiping, they were always envious and jealous of others. I didn't even notice when I began to pick up these behaviors but after hanging around them a few times, I began to act like them. I thank God so much for coming into my life because He definitely helped me see the things that I wasn't doing right.

To be 100% honest with you guys, if I was still friends with these people, I probably wouldn't have this blog up! They are the type of people that will discourage you and laugh at your progress. It was one of these girls that  told that if I don't lower my standards then I wouldn't find anyone decent to marry. I knew that in order for God to use me, I had to let them go. I don't hate them. I just love them from a................DISTANCE. A lot has changed ever since I distanced myself from this group. I have grown so much! They were a distraction. Who knew that friendships could make or break you? Surprising right?

Be friends with people who encourage you, people who want the best for you, people who push you to do your best. Most importantly be friends with people pray for you and also DRAW YOU CLOSER TO GOD!
